Mike in Zim - Prayer Guide

Dear Prayer Partners,

I would greatly appreciate prayer for my time in Chinhoyi for the next two weeks, as apart from Christ nothing of value will get accomplished (John 5:5). Naomi, who will be making her 4th trip to Zim, will join us here on Friday. We covet your prayer covering.

Arthur has asked us to share insights from Colossians 2:6-7 at the college ministry end-of-semester banquet, which will take place on our last day, June 2. Here is a prayer guide from those and subsequent verses:

21 May - "as you received Christ Jesus the Lord," I am so grateful to have received Christ along with my brothers and sisters here in Chinhoyi. May he use us to draw others to receive Christ.

22 May - "so walk [live] in Him," May the Lord speak through me as I encourage the LTLA team and Chosen Generation young adults with their position "in Christ."

23 May - "rooted and built up in Him," May the Lord speak through me as I continue encouraging the Discipleship Team to be rooted and growing in Christ. I will participate in the college ministry Bible study as well.

24 May - "established in the faith..." I will accompany Discipleship Team members as they meet with those they are discipling to help establish them in the faith.

25 May - "abounding in thanksgiving." I am very thankful for the opportunity to co-labor with these dear friends in Zimbabwe, as well as with Naomi who arrives today from Michigan.

26 May - "See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ." Pray that the men and women that Naomi and I share with at the Women and Men of Hope meetings will escape the bondage of the spirit realm that persists in this land.

27 May - "For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily," Praise be to God! Jesus is Lord! May he be pleased in our worship of him today.

28 May - "you have been filled in him," Do we believe it? It is the fact of the matter. May this truth permeate the LTLA team and all whom they impact with this truth.

29 May - "buried with him..." Just as Jesus was buried after he died for our sins, we in our sin have been buried with Christ. May this truth set people free into life in Christ.

30 May - "raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead." May God and his son Jesus Christ be the object of our faith in this kingdom work.

1 June - "And you who were dead in your trespasses...God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by cancelling the debt that stood against us." Death is separation caused by the selfishness of sin. Life is togetherness made possible through God's love in Christ. May this truth take root and transform lives in Chinhoyi.

2 June - "This he set aside, nailing it to the cross." May the students who attend the end-of-semester banquet encounter the finished work of Christ, who was nailed to the cross, died, was buried and rose again to grant us forgiveness of sins and life everlasting!

3 June - "He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in [Christ]." As Naomi and I depart may we and those to whom we ministered rest in the victory of Christ over the spiritual forces of darkness.

Thank you for supporting us in prayer!
